This dissertation reviews imaginary representations in three Spanish American novels dedicated to the figure of Christopher Colombus and his travel project: Alejo Carpentier’s The Harp and the Shadow (1979), Abel Posse’s The Dogs of Paradise (1983) and Augusto Roa Bastos’s Vigil of the Admiral (1992).
