Conditional gene expression or gene disruption using Cre/loxP- or FLP/frt-based recombination systems are valuable tools for studying gene function in development and disease. Recombinant adenoviral vectors expressing Cre recombinase have been suggested as an alternative for deletion of floxed sequences.
