We present an effective immunization strategy for computer networks and populations with broad and, in particular, scale-free degree distributions. The proposed strategy, acquaintance immunization, calls for the immunization of random acquaintances of random nodes (individuals). The strategy requires no knowledge of the node degrees or any other global knowledge, as do targeted immunization strategies. We study analytically the critical threshold for complete immunization. We also study the…

Analysis of hybrid immunization strategy in complex networks
TLDR
It can be concluded from the research that in hybrid immunization strategy, the influence of targeted immunization is greater than acquaintance immunization, and the image curve of simulation result is closer to that of single targeted immunizations strategy.
Weighted Immunization Strategy on Real Networks
TLDR
A weighted immunization strategy on real networks with community structure is proposed, finding that to combine the bridge nodes and nodes with the most degree at some ratio contributes to the immunization.
Improving immunization strategies.
TLDR
This work introduces an immunization method where the percentage of required vaccinations for immunity are close to the optimal value of a targeted immunization scheme of highest degree nodes, and finds it to be significantly more effective than other efficient strategies on three real social networks and on a scale-free network model.
Two novel immunization strategies for epidemic control in directed scale-free networks with nonlinear infectivity
TLDR
This work is the first to divide the whole population into different types and embed appropriate immunization scheme according to the characteristics of the population, and it will benefit the study of immunization and control of infectious diseases on complex networks.
Efficient immunization strategies on complex networks.
One immunization strategy of complex networks
TLDR
An immunization strategy which consists of choosing some node randomly and then adopting strengthened acquaintance immunization or improved target immunization according to different circumstances is presented, which is significantly more effective and adaptive.
Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness of Three Immunization Strategies in Controlling Disease Outbreaks in Realistic Social Networks
TLDR
The effectiveness of several classical stochastic immunization strategies was evaluated based on realistic contact networks for the first time in this study, and the sensitivity analysis shows ring vaccination could be applied to controlling the epidemics with a wide infectivity spectrum.
Immunization and epidemic dynamics in complex networks
TLDR
The Susceptible-Infected-Removed (SIR) epidemiological model is studied with various immunization strategies, including random, targeted and acquaintance immunization, and analytical results for the total number of infected individuals are derived.

TLDR
It is still unknown whether there are families of tight knots whose lengths grow faster than linearly with crossing numbers, but the largest power has been reduced to 3/z, and some other physical models of knots as flattened ropes or strips which exhibit similar length versus complexity power laws are surveyed.
疟原虫var基因转换速率变化导致抗原变异[英]/Paul H, Robert P, Christodoulou Z, et al//Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A
