paper proposes a pair of novel and robust nonlinear programming (NLP) approaches to furnish within a single step a maximum collapse load bound in one case and a minimum collapse load bound in the other of a rigid perfectly plastic structure subject to interval applied loads and/or material capacities. The schemes adopt mathematical programming techniques to reformulate each of the two interval formulations as a standard NLP problem that can be efficiently solved by any available NLP code.
