We show by detailed model computation how much the Pre-Main Sequence (PMS) lithium depletion depends on the treatment of over-adiabaticity, by taking advantage of the results of new models by Montalban et al., which apply different treatments of convection to non-grey PMS models. In order to reproduce both the PMS lithium depletion (inferred from the lithium depletion patterns in young open clusters), and the location of PMS tracks in the HR diagram (inferred from the study of young PMS stars… Expand

Clarifying Problems in the Description of Pre Main Sequence Evolution
• Physics

Lithium Isotopes in Population II Dwarfs
We address the evolution of lithium in Population II dwarf stars under the joint effects of microscopic diffusion and tachocline mixing. This process relies on analytical developments and is alsoExpand
MAGNETO-CONVECTION AND LITHIUM AGE ESTIMATES OF THE β PICTORIS MOVING GROUP
• Physics
• 2010
Although the means of the ages of stars in young groups determined from Li depletion often agree with mean ages determined from Hertzsprung-Russell (H-R) diagram isochrones, there are oftenExpand
Cumulative theoretical uncertainties in lithium depletion boundary age
• Physics
• 2015
We performed a detailed analysis of the main theoretical uncertainties affecting the age at the lithium depletion boundary (LDB). To do that we computed almost 12 000 pre-main- sequence models withExpand
Lithium in M 67: From the main sequence to the red giant branch
• Physics
• 2012
Lithium abundances in open clusters are a very effective probe of mixing processes, and their study can help to understand the large depletion of lithium in the Sun. Due to its age and metallicity,Expand
Theoretical Predictions of Surface Light Element Abundances in Protostellar and Pre-Main Sequence Phase
Theoretical prediction of surface stellar abundances of light elements–lithium, beryllium, and boron–represents one of the most interesting open problems in astrophysics. As well known, severalExpand
Pre-Main-Sequence Lithium Depletion
In this review I briefly discuss the theory of pre-main-sequence (PMS) Li depletion in low-mass (0.075<M<1.2 Msun) stars and highlight those uncertain parameters which lead to substantial differencesExpand
