Objectives:Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is one of the most common chronic diseases among older adults. This study aimed to test the effects of cabbage leaf wraps (CLWs) in the treatment of symptomatic OA. Methods:Patients with OA of the knee at stages II to III (Kellgren-Lawrence) were randomly assigned to 4 weeks of treatment with CLWs (daily for at least 2h), topical pain gel (TPG) (10 mg diclofenac/g, at least once daily), or usual care (UC). Initial Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: Oral and Topical Drugs
TLDR
Symptomatic slow-acting drugs for OA (SYSADOAs), such as glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, and diacerein, may now be considered as a first-line treatment for knee OA, with a particular emphasis placed on the outstanding benefit: risk ratio of pharmaceutical-grade glucosamines and chond Detroit sulfate formulations. Expand
Topical therapies for knee osteoarthritis
TLDR
Topical NSAIDs may be contemplated as similar options to oralNSAIDs and are associated with fewer gastrointestinal complications when compared with oral NSAIDs, especially for patients with previous complications of NSAIDs. Expand

The results of the analysis of 12 articles showed that hot and cold compresses, breast massage, and cabbage application were effective for postpartum breast pain and engorgement. Expand
Treatments for breast engorgement during lactation.
TLDR
The effectiveness and safety of different treatments for engorgement in breastfeeding women are determined and it is uncertain if women breastfeed longer following treatment with cold cabbage leaves than routine care because CIs were wide and included no effect. Expand
Applicability of trials in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis: A systematic review and meta-analysis of trial populations showing adequate proportion of women, but underrepresentation of elderly people.
TLDR
While women are adequately represented in RA and OA trials, the elderly are underrepresented, probably limiting applicability of current evidence to this growing subgroup. Expand
Treatments for breast engorgement during lactation.
TLDR
The objective of this update is to seek new information on the best forms of treatment for breast engorgement in lactating women and to assess the quality of the evidence using the GRADE approach. Expand
Measures of Physical Performance
TLDR
This review covers clinical physical performance measures that relate to adults with rheumatic conditions, specifically lower extremity osteoarthritis (OA), and removes several measures that were included in the 2011 review because there were no new studies evaluating these tests since the last review in 2011.
