In 2014, open field trials were conducted within the Core Organic 2 Project Bio-Incrop at the Research Centre Laimburg to investigate the efficacy of different treatments in reducing apple replant disease after replanting. The different treatments consisted of steaming, used by itself and in combination with calcium oxide (CaO) treatment, soil coverage with Film, and compost application.
