AIMS This study was undertaken to investigate the clinical effects and safety of intraoperative peritoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy (IPHC) for advanced gastric cancer (AGC) patients. METHODS A total of 118 AGC patients with serosal invasion were enrolled in this study from 1998 to 2001, 52 underwent IPHC after gastrectomy and 66 were treated with gastrectomy only.
