Late potentials (LPs) detected on the signal-averaged (SA) electrocardiogram (ECG) predict arrhythmic events after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The effect of thrombolysis on the incidence of LPs after AMI is controversial and its impact on subsequent arrhythmic events is not known.
