The xanthine derivative 1-methyl 3-isobutyl 8-(2-ethyl[1-(4-diphenylmethyl piperazinyl)])3, 7-dihydro (1H) purine 2, 6-dione (S 9795) is a potent inhibitor of bronchoconstriction in vivo.
