}BACKGROUND
We investigated the separate and combined effects of smoking and body mass index (BMI) on the success rate of IVF for couples with different causes of subfertility.
METHODS
The success rate of IVF was examined in 8457 women. Detailed information on reproduction and lifestyle factors was combined with medical record data on IVF treatment. All IVF clinics in The Netherlands participated in this study. The main outcome measures were live birth rate per first cycle of IVF…

Body mass index: impact on IVF success appears age-related.

In younger patients undergoing IVF, BMI has a significant negative impact on fertility that diminishes as patients reach their mid thirties, and after Age 36, BMI does not appear to have a major effect on IVF outcome.
Impact of overweight and underweight on IVF treatment in Chinese women

At a lower cutoff point of BMI in Chinese women, overweight is associated with increased miscarriage risks and impaired response to ovarian stimulation after IVF and ICSI.
THE EFFECT OF BODY MASS INDEX ON THE OUTCOME OF IVF/ICSI CYCLES IN NON POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME WOMEN

It is suggested that in non PCOs women, BMI had independent adverse effect on the pregnancy rate of IVF/ICSI cycles in non polycystic ovary syndrome women.

In 100 consecutive infertile couples scheduled for ART procedure, pregnancy was achieved in 30.2%, with female age and overweight and previous children from male side being the most significant factors affecting the ART outcome.

Weight reduction leads to high spontaneous conception rate as well as with ovulation induction therapy and improves the pregnancy outcome.
Impact of body mass index (BMI) and age on the outcome of the IVF process.
- MedicinePrilozi

Increased body mass of patients entering IVF has a negative impact on the final outcome and certainly reduces the success of the process resulting in reduced clinical pregnancy.
Influence of couple body mass indices on the treatment outcomes and expected neonatal body weights associated with intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles
- Medicine
- 2017
Live births conceived via ICSI were negatively affected by increased maternal BMI while not affected by paternal BMI, and the neonatal body weights of singletons increased with paternal BMI which did not significantly affect the NBWs of twins.
Impact of BMI on IVF outcome in females-A Prospective study
- Medicine
- 2013
There was close association of increased BMl in particular when BMl is > 30 kg/m2 and the reduced outcomes of IVF/ICSI treatment in the form of less clinical pregnancy and higher early pregnancy loss.
Effect of overweight and obesity on assisted reproductive technology--a systematic review.
- MedicineHuman reproduction update
- 2007
There is insufficient evidence on the effect of BMI on live birth, cycle cancellation, oocyte recovery and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and further studies with clear entry criteria and uniform reporting of outcomes are needed to investigate the true impact of weight.

The evidence presented in this review is compelling because of the consistency of effect across different study designs, sample size and types of outcome, however, continued reassurance is needed that the calculated overall effect is not in fact due to confounding variables.
