OBJECTIVE Increased circulating levels of hemostatic factors have been associated with arterial and venous thrombosis. Although in vitro evidence suggests that glucocorticoids may activate hemostasis and inhibit thrombolysis, no controlled in vivo studies have examined the effects of glucocorticoids on hemostatic factors.
