Effects of retinoic acid on lipoprotein lipase activity and mRNA level in vitro and in vivo.

Abstract

This study was designed to determine whether all-trans retinoic acid altered lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity and mRNA levels in vitro and tissue LPL mRNA levels in vivo. Incubation of adipocytes or adipose tissue for up to 12 hr with 10(-6) or 10(-5) M all-trans retinoic acid did not decrease LPL activity. There was no change in LPL mRNA levels following… (More)
