1. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of reduced glycogen concentration on force, Ca2+ release and myofibrillar protein function during fatigue in skeletal muscle. Force and intracellular free Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) were measured in single mammalian skeletal muscle fibres during fatigue and recovery.
