PURPOSE Montelukast, a selective cysteinyl leukotriene D4-receptor antagonist, is used in the treatment of asthma. In a rat model, our aim was to investigate the effects of montelukast, alone or in combination with topical antibiotics, on local burn wound healing. METHODS Rats were randomly allocated to four groups after local burn development: Group 1; rats were left to secondary healing without treatment, Group 2; a dose of 10 mg/kg montelukast was given by gastric gavage once a day for 10…
Montelukast, an Antagonist of Cysteinyl Leukotriene Signaling, Impairs Burn Wound Healing.
TLDR
It is shown that montelukast delays burn wound healing by impairing the proliferation of keratinocytes and endothelial cells, which occurs largely independent of inflammatory responses at the wound site, suggesting that montELukast impairs specifically the proliferative phase of wound healing, in burns.
Beneficial Effects of Montelukast against Cisplatin-Induced Acute Renal Damage in Rats
TLDR
Montelukast treatment after CP injection exerted therapeutic effects against CP-induced acute kidney damage against malondialdehyde, MDA, MPO, BUN, and Cr levels when compared with the control group.
Otostegia persica extraction on healing process of burn wounds.
TLDR
Methanolic extract of Otostegia persica exhibited significant healing activity when topically applied on rats, indicating that OP is an effective treatment for saving the burn site.
The effects of montelukast against amikacin-induced acute renal damage.
TLDR
Montelukast treatment after amikacin injection could reduce the amkacin-induced kidney damage and reduced the expression of apoptotic cells.

TLDR
It can be said that montelukast prevent kidney damage with antioxidant effect, independently of NO.
Effect of ethanolic extract of plectranthus amboinicus leaf on healing of burn wound in wistar rats
TLDR
The ethanolic extract of Plectranthusamboinicus promoted healing of burn wound in wistar rats and compared it with silver sulfadiazine treated group.
Montelukast for Medical Delay in Flap Surgery
TLDR
Positive effects of Montelukast on survival and angiogenesis are reported and it is recommended to be used as a medication for larger studies.
β-Glucan treatment prevents progressive burn ischaemia in the zone of stasis and improves burn healing: an experimental study in rats.
Beneficial Effects of Montelukast Against Methotrexate-Induced Liver Toxicity: A Biochemical and Histological Study
TLDR
It was showed that montelukast treatment after metotrexate application could reduce methotrexate-induced experimental liver damage and glycogen storage in hepatocytes was observed as decreased by periodic acid schiff staining in Mtx group as compared to controls.

Leukotriene Antagonist S 872419 A for Early-Phase Treatment of Chemical Burn in the Rabbit Eye
TLDR
Gross and microscopic investigations indicated that S 872419 A inhibits the inflammatory response of the chemically burned anterior eye segment, suggesting inhibition of lipoxygenase-mediated reactions in the tissue.

TLDR
The results suggest that the polylacticacid–acetic acid matrix should be studied in greater depth and could be used as a valid alternative for the topical treatment of burns, as it is equivalent or even more effective than SD‐Ag.
Leukotriene receptor blocker montelukast protects against burn-induced oxidative injury of the skin and remote organs.
Gastroprotective and antioxidant effects of montelukast on indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer in rats.
TLDR
The results suggest that the gastroprotective effects of montelukast on indomethacin-induced ulcerations can be attributed to its ameliorating effect on oxidative damage and MPO activity.

TLDR
Clinical trials have shown that montelukast is effective and safe in the treatment of patients with asthma, allergic rhinitis or both diseases, and the use of LTRAs, particularly montelUKast, may seem appropriate.
Nitric Oxide Accelerates the Recovery from Burn Wounds
TLDR
It was concluded that NO treatment promoted re-epithelialization and wound closure by means of enhanced inflammatory cell infiltration, and that it promoted angiogenesis and facilitated collagen synthesis in the wound bed.
