SummaryThe effects of cyclophenazine and trifluoperazine were compared in rats on a conditioned avoidance-escape procedure. At the doses used, both drugs caused a selective depression of avoidance behavior with a minimal effect on escape behavior. Differences between the drugs were observed in regards to potency, onset of activity, and duration of activity. The magnitude of the differences could be altered with changes in the number of avoidance trials and the duration of intervals of time-out…

TLDR
The results showed that the sensitivity to chlorpromazine, determined on the basis of 100 trials starting 60 minutes after the injection of the drug, is significantly less when the rats were exposed to trials just from the moment of theDrug injection than if there were no trials during the 60 minutes preceding the determination.

TLDR
It is indicated that, at the doses used, the chloro-substituted compounds produced less CNS stimulation than did d - methamphetamine or methamphetamine on an avoidance procedure and produced relatively small increases in the rats’ response rates.
