A callus strain with stable ability for vindoline synthesis was selected from many prepared Catharanthus roseus leaf calli to study the regulation of vindoline biosynthesis as well as other indole alkaloids. It was shown that light and plant growth regulators significantly influenced the biosynthesis of vindoline and other alkaloids as well as acidic and basic peroxidase activities.
