The reversibility of the alterations in norepinephrine (NE) content and turnover in interscapular brown adipose tissue and heart of iron-deficient rats has not been demonstrated. We therefore examined NE metabolism in age-matched male Sprague-Dawley rats depleted of iron by dietary means and after repletion with iron dextran.
