Pigs from crosses of a Piétrain (Pi) and a Large White×Piétrain (LwPi) heterozygous (Nn) boar lines with Landrace×Large White homozygous negative (NN) sows, were used to study the effect of halothane gene and pre-slaughter treatment on animal welfare and meat quality.
