The objective of this research was to determine effects of a single injection of the PG synthesis inhibitor flunixin meglumine (FM; 1.1 mg/kg of BW, intramuscularly) approximately 13 d (range 10 to 15 d) after AI on pregnancy establishment. Three experiments were conducted using estrus-synchronized heifers and cows. Technicians and AI sires were equally represented across treatments within locations and experiments. Bulls were introduced on the day of FM treatment. Pregnancy to AI was diagnosed…
Effect of flunixin meglumine and carprofen on pregnancy rates in dairy cattle.
TLDR
Neither flunixin meglumine nor carprofen improved conception rates to first service in dairy cattle in the dosage and administration schedule tested.
Effects of adrenocorticotropic hormone and flunixin meglumine on pregnancy retention in beef cows.

TLDR
The activation of the hypophyseal-adrenal axis with ACTH increased serum cortisol concentrations but did not increase serum concentrations of PGFM or cause pregnancy loss during early gestation in cows.
Effect of Exogenous Progesterone or Flunixin Meglumine After AI on Serum Progesterone Concentration and Pregnancy per AI in Lactating Dairy Cows
TLDR
Treatment with exogenous P4 (i.e. CIDR and IP4) or FM increased serum P4 concentrations in lactating dairy cows, however, results suggest that only C IDR administration would improve P/AI.
Effect of flunixin meglumine and aspirin administration on conception rate and estrous cycle characteristics of Egyptian Baladi cows during hot season
TLDR
Beneficial effect of FM and aspirin administration on intense of displayed estrous behavior and conception rate of Egyptian Baladi cows during the hot season clearly indicated.
Effect of follicle age on conception rate in beef heifers.
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of age of the ovulatory follicle on fertility in beef heifers. Ovulation was synchronized with the 5 d CO-Synch + controlled intravaginal drug
The effect of follicle age on pregnancy rate in beef cows.
TLDR
The age of the ovulatory follicle affected interval to estrus and AI but did not influence pregnancy rate in suckled beef cows.
Influence of Season of Calving, Parity and Flunixin Meglumine Administration on Conception Rate in Repeat Breeder Egyptian Baladi Cows and their Crosses
TLDR
The current study recommended the synchronization of estrous in cows to arrange the births to be during the cold season to avoid the problems of the hot season, especially in southern Egypt, as well as treated with Flunixin Meglumine on the fourteenth day of mating in cows.

Effects of flunixin meglumine and transportation on establishment of pregnancy in beef cows.
TLDR
It is concluded that transportation of cows approximately 14 d after AI increased serum cortisol concentrations but did not affect AI pregnancy rates, however, treatment of cows with FM increased AIregnancy rates, irrespective of whether they were transported.
Effect of a CIDR insert and flunixin meglumine administered at the time of embryo transfer on pregnancy rate and resynchronization of estrus in beef cattle
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of flunixin meglumine (FM), an inhibitor of PGF2α synthesis, administered at the time of embryo transfer (ET) and insertion of an
Effect of a single dose of ibuprofen lysinate before embryo transfer on pregnancy rates in cows.
TLDR
Data indicate that ibuprofen lysinate may be an effective adjunctive treatment for assisted reproduction in cattle and further studies are needed to clarify whether this effect is associated with the reduction of cyclooxygenase enzyme isoforms during embryo transfer or whether other mechanisms are involved.
Effect of administration of human chorionic gonadotropin after artificial insemination on concentrations of progesterone and conception rates in beef heifers.
TLDR
Administration of hCG 5 to 6 d after AI did not improve conception or pregnancy rates at two out of three locations evaluated, suggesting insufficient progesterone is not a major factor contributing to early pregnancy failure in beef heifers.
The effect of bovine interferon-alpha I1 on pregnancy rate in heifers.
TLDR
It is demonstrated that, under the administration systems used, bIFN-alpha does not increase pregnancy rate, but rather tends to reduce it.
Effects of elevated concentrations of prostaglandin F2 alpha on pregnancy rates in progestogen supplemented cattle.
Embryotoxicity of a regressing corpus luteum in beef cows supplemented with progestogen.
TLDR
Both reduction of endogenous PGF2 alpha and luteectomy were required for embryo survival in postpartum cows with short-lived corpora lutea, whereas luteectomized alone prevented effects of exogenous P GF2 alpha in cycling cows.
