Abstract The effects of aluminium (0–2 wt.%) and/or silicon (0–2 wt.%) on the oxidation resistance in air of 13wt.%CrTi stainless steel have been investigated by means of isothermal heating in the temperature range from 800 to 1200 °C. The influence of niobium and zirconium is also compared with that of titanium. Also, the improvement in the oxidation resistance imparted by a chromium level of 17 wt.% is examined, mainly where there are also aluminium and titanium additions or zirconium… Expand
