High fat-sucrose (HFS) diets can reportedly produce glucose intolerance and hyperinsulinemia that may indirectly have deleterious effects on bone. The effects of a high-fat diet on calcium absorption, bone calcium content, and bone mechanical properties, however, remain controversial.
