Summary The effects of a brassinosteroid (BR) and selected putative inhibitors of ribonucleic acid (RNA) synthesis (actinomycin D, 6-methylpurine, 2,6-diaminopurine, 8-azaguinine, 2-azauracil, 2-thiouracil and 5-fluorouracil) and protein synthesis (cycloheximide, puromycin and chloramphenicol) on, epicotyl growth in mung bean ( Phaseolus aureus Roxb.) cuttings were examined.
