The theme of the work is investigation of effects of acoustic nonlinearity on efficacy of biological tissue heating due to absorption of high intensity focused ultrasound. Regimes of ultrasound excitation, typical for real laboratory and clinical acoustic surgery experiments are considered. The effect of nonlinearity on spatial distributions of thermal sources in tissue and corresponding temperature field is studied for various position of water-tissue interface.
