This study assessed the effectiveness of a theory-based direct mail campaign in encouraging non-compliant women, aged 30 and older or younger if married, to obtain a Pap test. Participants were female family members of inpatients admitted to one of the major teaching hospitals in Taiwan during August–September 1999.
