A general framework is given for evaluating the contributions of as yet undiscovered heavy quarks to the gluonic decay rate of the Weinberg-Salam type Higgs boson. Since the Yukawa coupling of the Higgs boson to a quark pair is proportional to the quark mass, loop graphs involving heavy quarks have a non-vanishing effect on the gluonic decay width of the Higgs boson. This effect of heavy quarks with massesMj(j=t,...) much greater than the Higgs boson massmH is calculated in an effective gauge…

Higgs Decay, Z Decay and the QCD Beta-Function

Recent developments in perturbative QCD, leading to the beta function in five-loop approximation are presented. In a first step the two most important decay modes of the Higgs boson are discussed:

Standard-Model Higgs bosons are dominantly produced via the gluon-fusion mechanism gg → H at the LHC, i.e. in a loop-mediated process with top loops providing the dominant contribution. For the

We present predictions for the Higgs boson decay into four bottom quarks in the standard model and via light exotic scalars retaining full bottom-quark mass dependence. In the SM the decay can be

Two-loop QCD corrections to the helicity amplitudes for H → 3 partons

A bstractMany search strategies for the Standard Model Higgs boson apply specific selection criteria on hadronic jets observed in association with the Higgs boson decay products, either in the form

The gluon-fusion production of Higgs boson pair: N3LO QCD corrections and top-quark mass effects

The Higgs boson pair production via gluon fusion at high-energy hadron colliders, such as the LHC, is vital in deciphering the Higgs potential and in pinning down the electroweak symmetry breaking

High precision determination of the gluon fusion Higgs boson cross-section at the LHC

A bstractWe present the most precise value for the Higgs boson cross-section in the gluon-fusion production mode at the LHC. Our result is based on a perturbative expansion through N3LO in QCD, in an

Analytic results for virtual QCD corrections to Higgs production and decay

We consider the production of a Higgs boson via gluon-fusion and its decay into two photons. We compute the NLO virtual QCD corrections to these processes in a general framework in which the coupling

We investigate in detail, within the framework of perturbative quantum chromodynamics, properties of the gluon jet in comparison with those of the quark jet. The short-distance features of a gluon

Decays of Heavy Vector Mesons into Higgs Particles

Estimates are presented for the decay of vector mesons composed of heavy quarks into states containing a Higgs boson. If the decays are kinematically allowed, they are probably experimentally

Effects of heavy particles through factorization and renormalization group

For renormalizable theories without spontaneous symmetry breaking, a formalism is developed to systematically extract and evaluate the effects of heavy particles in low-energy physics through
