BACKGROUND Previous studies have demonstrated that shifting immunosuppressive therapy from cyclosporine (CyA) to tacrolimus (FK) may arrest the decline in forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV(1)) during chronic rejection after lung transplantation.
