Effect of serum withdrawal on the proliferation of B16F10 melanoma cells.

Abstract

B16F10 murine melanoma cell proliferation was inhibited after 48 h in medium with serum in the range 0.1 to 0.5% by volume. Cell viability was mostly retained, whereas cells completely deprived of serum died. Growth-arrested cultures showed serum-dependent suppression of DNA synthesis. The response was typically that of a 'cell cycle freeze', verified by… (More)
