Effect of salt stress on the respiratory activity ofAspergillus sydowii

Abstract

Respirometric studies with mitochondrial, fractions and whole cells revealed the presence of a more actively functioning respiratory system inAspergillus sydowii grown under salinity conditions. Oxidation of substrate, i.e., succinate, by the mitochondrial fraction was inhibited by the addition of rotenone, antimycin A, and cyanide. Electron microscopic… (More)
