The aim of the present study was to explore the effect of rutin on early diabetic neuropathy in experimental animals. Streptozotocin (55 mg/kg, i.p.) was administered to different groups of rats. Four weeks after injection of streptozotocin, rutin (50 and 100 mg/kg, p.o.), metformin (200 mg/kg, p.o.) and sertraline (30 mg/kg, p.o.) were administered in diabetic rats (n=5) for three weeks. The antidiabetic activity of rutin was studied by measuring serum glucose, serum triglyceride and…

Effect of Rutin on Diabetic Auditory Neuropathy in an Experimental Rat Model

Rutin shows promise as a treatment modality for diabetic auditory neuropathy, but more trials are warranted for its clinical application.

Evaluation of Effect of Nishamalaki on STZ and HFHF Diet Induced Diabetic Neuropathy in Wistar Rats.

Apart from controlling hyperglycaemia and reducing lipid levels, NA effectively prevented the development of diabetic neuropathy in type 2 diabetic wistar rats.

A study on the possible role of date fruit on the electrophysiology and neuropathic changes in diabetic polyneuropathy

In conclusion, DEF has a beneficial effect in ameliorating the altered biochemical parameters and NCV in experimentally-induced DPN, probably through its antioxidant and its anti-inflammatory effects.

Ameliorative Potential of Allium cepa Lam. Leaves on Diabetes Induced and Chronic Constriction Injury Induced Neuropathic Pain in Experimental Rats

Treatment of Allium cepa leaves extract showed dose dependent improvement in behavioural and biochemical parameters towards normal and the altered histopathological changes in sciatic nerve were significantly improved as compared to rats with neuropathic pain.

Quantification of Quercetin Obtained from Allium cepa Lam. Leaves and its Effects on Streptozotocin-induced Diabetic Neuropathy

All the ACEA treatment reduces blood glucose level at the end of the 2-week study and shows a significant neuroprotective effect in STZ-induced DN in the above experimental models.

Molineria recurvata Ameliorates Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Nephropathy through Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Pathways

The results suggest that the MR extracts exhibits therapeutic activity in contrast to renal injury in STZ-induced diabetic rats through repressing inflammation and oxidative stress.

A histological and morphometric study of the sciatic nerve in experimentally induced male diabetic rabbits and the potential neuroprotective role of coenzyme Q10

Interestingly, CoQ10 supplementation resulted in partial protection against most of the histomorphometric diabetic changes, and this provides an impetus for further clinical studies to elaborate the potential role of coenzyme Q10 in preventing diabetic polyneuropathy in diabetic patients.
