OBJECTIVES This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of phenylephrine infusion on the occurrence of focal atrial fibrillation (AF). BACKGROUND Paroxysmal AF can be initiated by ectopic atrial beats originating in the pulmonary vein (PV) or superior vena cava (SVC).
