  • Fifteen maize genotypes were screened for their tolerance towards flooding and drought stress. Various biochemical parameters (enzymes/metabolites) were studied in leaves and roots at two leaf seedling stage in selected maize genotypes after 72 h drought and flooding stress. Activities of ADH, ALDH, PDC, CAT, POX, HXK and SuSy increased in roots of tolerant genotypes after flooding stress, while drought stress increased the activity of POX and SuSy and ascorbic acid content in the leaves of… CONTINUE READING
