The effect of meptazinol and/or ethanol on human psychomotor performance and mood ratings has been investigated in 8 healthy volunteers in a double blind randomised study. Meptazinol (200 mg 3 hourly for 4 doses) or placebo were administered orally and ethanol (0.8 g/kg) or placebo were given 30 min after the last tablet.
