To evaluate the association between apical patency and post-operative pain in posterior teeth with pulp necrosis and apical periodontitis.
METHODOLOGY
Sixty-eight patients requiring primary root canal treatment in mandibular first molars with necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis were included. The patients were randomly allocated to one of two groups: patency (n = 34) and nonpatency (n = 34). After administering local anaesthesia, root canal preparation was completed using ProTaper…Â

This study concluded that maintenance of apical patency increased postoperative pain, and status of pulp and preoperative pain revealed as influencing factors for post operative pain in patency group.

- MedicineInternational endodontic journal

Pretreatment submucosal dexamethasone and tramadol injections significantly diminished post-treatment endodontic pain of patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis, however, dexamETHasone was more effective than tramadl in pain reduction in the first 12Â h.

- MedicineBrazilian dental journal
- 2020
Occlusal adjustment did not influence the prevalence of postoperative pain of endodontically treated teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and was not analyzed using Mann-Whitney, chi-squared, and Fisher's exact tests.
