Effect of laser irradiation on seed germination and root yield of scorzonera (Scorzonera hispanica L.)

title={Effect of laser irradiation on seed germination and root yield of scorzonera (Scorzonera hispanica L.)},
author={Marcela Krawiec and Agata Dziwulska-Hunek and Salwina Palonka and Magdalena Kapłan and Piotr Baryła},
the germination capacity and field emergence was that of the 5-time laser irradiation. Increase of total root yield as a result of pre-sowing seed irradiation was related with increased emergence.

Tables from this paper

Effect of exposing the seeds of tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum L.) to diode laser rays on the germination, growth of hypocotyl stems callus of their seedlings and its content of lycopene

The current study succeeded in demonstrating the role of red laser beams at a wavelength of 650 nm and a power of 50 milliwatts / cm2 when exposed to the seeds of the tomato plant Solanum

Laser Irradiation of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata L.) at Two Wavelengths for Enhanced Seedling Development

Two laser sources operating at wavelengths of 632.8 nm (He-Ne) and 488 nm (Ar+) are used in examining the effects of coherent, low-power, continuous wave exposure on the development of Vigna radiata

The Use of Physical Factors for Seed Quality Improvement of Horticultural Plants

Abstract Due to the common trend towards limitation of excessive use of chemicals in agriculture, there is a growth of interest in methods of seed quality improvement that would be safe for the

Advanced Application of Electrospun Polycaprolactone Fibers for Seed Germination Activity

Results show that the seeds were able to germinate on electrospun PCL fiber substrate, owing to the properties of high surface area and excellent fluid water uptake of PCL fibers.

Recent applications of novel laser techniques for enhancing agricultural production

With ever increasing world population, the demands on food safety and security are also expected to substantially increase over the next few decades. As agronomic practices, agricultural

Pre-sowing laser treatment resulted in increasing of the several parameters such as germination energy, germination capacity, speed of germination, hypocotyl and radicle length, as well as fresh and dry weight of seedlings.

Changes in the germination process and growth of pea in effect of laser seed irradiation

Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the effect of pre-sowing helium-neon (He-Ne) laser irradiation of pea seeds on changes in seed biochemical processes, germination rate, seedling

Effect of seed stimulation on germination and sugar beet yield

Germination and sugar beet yield after seed stimulation were investigated and the energ'hill seeds exhibited a significantly higher content of carotenoids in seedlings and an increase in the content of chlorophylls.

Germination capacity and health status of hybrid alfalfa seeds after laser treatment

Seed treatment with He-Ne laser light did not significantly influence the share of seeds germinating normally, however, it did decrease the percentage of those seeds Germinating abnormally, the hard seeds and also those seeds infected with disease but only when double the power was used.

Relationship of Seed Vigor to Crop Yield: A Review

The objective of this review was to examine the relationship of seed vigor to one aspect of performance : crop yield, and reported only on the direct effects of Seed vigor on yield in the absence of population differences.

Effect of electromagnetic stimulation of alfalfa seeds

Abstract In the conducted experiments the effect of presowing He-Ne laser light, magnetic field stimulation or the combination of these two factors of alfalfa seeds on the field emergence, structure

The results obtained show that the helium-neon laser with the wavelength of 632.8 nm can be an effective tool for increasing variability of traits in spring barley.

[Inulin: a valuable nutritional component].

Inulin, a natural oligomer of fructose, is classified as a food component. It can be found in some plants and vegetables, i.e. chicory, Jerusalem artichoke, elecampane, and dandelion. Following
