The coherent third-order nonlinear response of monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) semiconductors, such as MoSe2 is dominated by the nonlinear exciton response, as well as biexciton and trion resonances. The fact that these resonances may be spectrally close together makes identification of the signatures, for example in differential transmission (DT), challenging. Instead of focusing on explaining a given set of experimental data, a systematic study aimed at elucidating the roles…

Probing excitonic dark states in single-layer tungsten disulphide
TLDR
Experimental evidence of a series of excitonic dark states in single-layer WS2 using two-photon excitation spectroscopy is reported, and it is proved that the excitons are of Wannier type, meaning that each exciton wavefunction extends over multiple unit cells, but with extraordinarily large binding energy.
Neutral and charged inter-valley biexcitons in monolayer MoSe2
TLDR
P polarization-resolved two-dimensional coherent spectroscopy (2DCS) is implemented to unravel the complex optical response of monolayer MoSe2 and identify multiple higher-order correlated states.
Biexciton fine structure in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides
The optical properties of atomically thin transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) semiconductors are shaped by the emergence of correlated many-body complexes due to strong Coulomb interaction.
Theory of coherent pump–probe spectroscopy in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides
A valley-selective circular dichroism and a pronounced spin-valley locking in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) enable the investigation of new many-body physics revealed in the
Coherent and Incoherent Coupling Dynamics between Neutral and Charged Excitons in Monolayer MoSe2.
TLDR
This work reveals the coherent and incoherent nature of exciton-trion coupling and the relevant time scales in monolayer MoSe2 using optical two-dimensional coherent spectroscopy.
T-matrix analysis of biexcitonic correlations in the nonlinear optical response of semiconductor quantum wells
Abstract:A detailed numerical analysis of exciton-exciton interactions in semiconductor quantum wells is presented. The theory is based on the dynamics-controlled truncation formalism and evaluated
Finite-momentum exciton landscape in mono- and bilayer transition metal dichalcogenides

Real-time GW-BSE investigations on spin-valley exciton dynamics in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide
TLDR
It is proved that e-h many-body effects are essential to understand the spin-valley exciton dynamics in transition metal dichalcogenides and the newly developed GW + rtBSE-NAMD method provides a powerful tool for exciton Dynamics in extended systems with time, space, momentum, energy, and spin resolution.
Phonon-assisted oscillatory exciton dynamics in monolayer MoSe2
In monolayer semiconductor transition metal dichalcogenides, the exciton–phonon interaction strongly affects the photocarrier dynamics. Here, we report on an unusual oscillatory enhancement of the
Intrinsic Exciton Linewidth in Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenides
Monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides feature Coulomb-bound electron-hole pairs (excitons) with exceptionally large binding energy and coupled spin and valley degrees of freedom. These unique
