The study of ethanol effects on intracellular transport and membrane biogenesis in rat hepatocytes revealed that, during synthesis of transport vesicles, the cytosolic phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase incorporated into the membrane of Golgi transport vesicles and a portion of the vesicular phosphatidylinositol was phosphorylated to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Association of the enzyme with Golgi transport vesicles and the transport to the apical portion of the cell membrane was not affected…
Phosphatidylglycerol-containing ER-transport Vesicles Built and Restore Outer Mitochondrial Membrane and Deliver Nuclear DNA Translation Products to Generate Cardiolipin in the Inner Mitochondrial Membrane
TLDR
These studies provide evidence that ER-generated PG-enriched transport vesicles represent the general pathway for restitution of mitochondrial membranes and the delivery of nuclear DNA translation products that generate CL, and thus sustain the mitochondrial matrix CL-dependent metabolic reactions.
Cell membranes composition is defined in ER and their restitution proceed by en bloc fusion of ER generated transport vesicles
TLDR
The experiments indicate that transport vesicles’ membrane composition and fidelity of its construction is defined in ER, which involves synchronous membrane lipid synthesis, cotranslational intercalation of integral membrane proteins and containment of the vesicular cargo.
The Flow of Information from Nucleus to Golgi Is Contingent upon Nuclear Membrane Synthesis and Protraction of the Ceramide-Containing Membrane to Endoplasmic Reticulum
TLDR
The findings presented in this communication provide further support to the concept that the factual intercalation of proteins and lipids into the cell membranes can only take place during their simultaneous synthesis that is guided by the nuclear and cytosolic processes enacted in nuclear-ER membrane continuum.
Homeostatic restitution of cell membranes. Nuclear membrane lipid biogenesis and transport of protein from cytosol to intranuclear spaces.
TLDR
Evidence is presented on the homeostatic restitution of lipids in the biomembranes that constitute nuclear envelopes that are responsible for transport of the cytosolic protein into the nucleus and, replenishment of ER membrane used for vesicular transport.
Homeostatic cell cycle and the origin of autophagosomal vesicles
TLDR
The findings allowed us to authenticate the vesicles generated in the CHX-treated cells as organelle-specific autophagosomes and to determine that complete cycle of cell restitution and debridement includes intralysosome degradation of the lysosomal membrane engulfing the autophagic vesicle.
Association of cPLA2-α and COX-1 with the Golgi apparatus of A549 human lung epithelial cells
TLDR
High-resolution confocal microscopy of the human A549 lung epithelial cell line shows that cPLA2-α relocates from the cytosol and nuclei to a juxtanuclear region following stimulation with the Ca2+ ionophore A23187, suggesting Golgi localization of cPLA 2-α may be involved in membrane trafficking in epithelial cells.
Mitochondrial Membranes Restitution Proceeds via Vesicular Import from ER and Cytosol. Counterparts’ Resemblances and Variances in Mitochondria and Golgi Pathways
TLDR
The described path of translocation of the membrane segments and the cytosol synthesized proteins into the designated mitochondrial compartments sustains growth and identity of OMM, IMM, maintains protein delivery for intra-mitochondrial lipid and protein modification in Mitosol, and ensures conformity of the cytOSolic proteins cargo delivered to matrix.
Gastric mucosal cell homeostatic physiome. Critical role of ER-initiated membranes restitution in the fidelity of cell function renewal.
TLDR
The findings revealed that the preservation of the physiological equilibrium in cell structure and function is attributed to a complete membrane segment synthesis in ER, its transport in the form of ER-transport vesicle to Golgi, and the membrane components-defined maturation of lipids and proteins in Golgi.
Concluding Step in Cell Restitution Cycle: ER Transport Vesicles with Sphingolipids in the Outer Leaflet of the Membrane Restore Lysosomes
TLDR
Findings provide a clear distinction between the processes that renovate cell membrane and its organelles from that of the endocytotic cell debridement, and show that vesicles are navigated to the specificorganelles and the cell membrane by the biomembrane constituents programmed in ER.
Transformations of phosphatidylinositol phosphates in the outer and inner nuclear membrane are linked to synthesis and restitution of cellular membranes
TLDR
Evidence linking nuclear phos- phoinositides cycle with endoplasmic reticulum synthesis and function is presented and it is concluded that the observed conversions in the nuclear membrane continuum are induced by the lateral movement of the membrane and its transit from the cytosolic to nuclear and back to cytosolics environment.

Membrane biogenesis in the presence of ethanol.
TLDR
The results suggest that ethanol-induced membrane alterations are initiated at the early stages of the membrane biogenesis and are first reflected in the lipid composition of the intracellular transport vesicles.
Intracellular processes associated with vesicular transport from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi and exocytosis: ethanol-induced changes in membrane biogenesis.
TLDR
Modified membrane biogenesis in the liver of ethanol-fed rats is connected to the elevated free Ca2+ in the cytosol, which appears to regulate phosphatase activity, suggesting that inanol-fed animals diglycerides are depleted and PA is utilized in a CDP-diacylglycerol pathway, thus leading to the generation of a different group of phospholipids and consequently modified ER-transport vesicle membrane.
Intracellular processes associated with glycoprotein transport and processing.
Effect of ethanol on gastric mucus glycoprotein synthesis, translocation, transport, glycosylation, and secretion.
TLDR
Results indicate that ethanol inhibits synthesis, transport, and processing of gastric mucus glycoprotein, and that the processes taking place in different intracellular compartments contribute in the additive fashion and, are reflected in a dramatic decrease in the delivery of mucus Glycoprotein to the gastric epithelial surfaces.
Signal transducing molecules and glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol-linked proteins form a caveolin-rich insoluble complex in MDCK cells
TLDR
It is proposed that caveolin could function as a transmembrane adaptor molecule that couples luminal G PI-linked proteins with cytoplasmically oriented signaling molecules during GPI- Membrane trafficking or GPI -mediated signal transduction events.
