Reverse signaling of transmembrane TNF (mTNF) contributes to the versatility of this cytokine superfamily. Previously, we could demonstrate that mTNF acting as receptor confers resistance to bacterial lipopolysaccharide in monocytes and macrophages (MO/MPhi).
