Adequate cell dehydration is the precipitating element in the successful cryopreservation of plant cells and organs. This could be achieved by using different cooling rates, transfer temperatures and cryoprotectants. Experiments were performed to determine these critical points in the freeze preservation procedure of Cannabis sativa (L.) suspension cultures.
