Trichothecenes are terpenoid toxins produced by multiple fungal species with diverse lifestyles. In these fungi, the trichothecene biosynthetic gene (tri) cluster includes a gene encoding a Cys2His2 Zn-finger protein (TRI6). Analyses of plant pathogenic Fusarium species indicate that tri6 regulates tri gene expression.
