Well logging data provide continuous information about the physical in-situ properties of the borehole wall. It has become a standard method in oil industry for the investigation of subsurface geology. Interpretation techniques thus have been mainly developed for the use in sedimentary rocks and log responses of sediments are well known and calibrated to core data.
