Clinical augmentation strategies have shown that some improvement in antidepressant efficacy can be achieved by combining the beta-adrenergic/serotonin (5-HT)1A/1B receptor antagonist (+/-)pindolol with a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
