The efficiency of (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)trimethylammonium chloride and polyamino chlorohydrin quaternary ammonium compound for cationization of cotton has been studied. The influence of process conditions during cationization on the colour strength (K/S) and total dye utilization has also been studied. It is observed that the cationization increases the dye utilization by 30% with no change in colour fastness and reduces the environmental pollution to a great extent.
