The effect of benzylaminopurine (BAP) on the formation of roots from lentil shoots regenerated on media containing BAP was studied. Seedling shoot tips, first nodes and bractlets, and immature seeds cultured on the initiation media containing 2.25 or 0.225 mg/l of BAP regenerated multiple bud shoots. The regenerated shoots formed roots in percentages ranging from 4.6 to 39.9% on a rooting medium (R medium) containing 2 mg/l of indoleacetic acid.
