We investigate the effect of atomic ordering on the magnetic anisotropy of Ni80Fe20 at.% (Py). To this end, Py films were grown epitaxially on MgO (001) using dc magnetron sputtering (dcMS) and high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS). Aside from twin boundaries observed in the latter case, both methods present high quality single crystals with cube-on-cube epitaxial relationship as verified by the polar mapping of important crystal planes. However, X-ray diffraction results indicate…

Oblique angle deposition of nickel thin films by high-power impulse magnetron sputtering
Due to the high discharge current and high ionized flux fraction, the HiPIMS process can suppress the inclined columnar growth induced by oblique angle deposition and exhibit different magnetic properties than dcMS-deposited films.
Temperature-Dependent Magnetoresistance in Polycrystalline Ni81Fe19 Thin Film on Si (100)
Magnetoresistance (MR) in thin films stems from different types of scattering mechanism present in the film. We report a systematic study of the temperature-dependent magnetoresistance behaviour in
Role of ionization fraction on the surface roughness, density, and interface mixing of the films deposited by thermal evaporation, dc magnetron sputtering, and HiPIMS: An atomistic simulation
We explore the effect of ionization fraction on the epitaxial growth of Cu film on Cu (111) substrate at room temperature. We compare thermal evaporation, dc magnetron sputtering (dcMS) and high
On the role of ion potential energy in low energy HiPIMS deposition: An atomistic simulation
We study the effect of the so-called ion potential or non-kinetic energies of bombarding ions during ionized physical vapor deposition of Cu using molecular dynamics simulations. In particular we
Information storage in permalloy modulated magnetic nanowires
Whether a prototype like this can be complemented to be used as a magnetic key or to store information in the form of firmware is found, indicating that both possibilities are feasible.
Correlation of uniaxial magnetic anisotropy axes and principal resistivities in polycrystalline ferromagnetic films
In the present study, we demonstrate resistivity ($\rho$) measurement along the magnetic axes of a polycrystalline film of ferromagnetic permalloy. To this end, conventional Hall-bar and more recent

Single-crystal films of permalloy (Ni80Fe20) were grown on Cu(001) seed layers oriented epitaxially with Si(001). The microstructural properties were measured using in-situ reflection high-energy
Influence of crystallographic orientation on the magnetic properties of NiFe, Co, and Ni epitaxial fcc films grown on single-crystal substrates
Ni80Fe20 (at. %), Co, and Ni epitaxial thin films of fcc(100) and fcc(111) orientations are prepared on single-crystal substrates by using an ultra-high-vacuum radio-frequency magnetron sputtering
Comparison of magnetic and structural properties of permalloy Ni80Fe20 grown by dc and high power impulse magnetron sputtering
We study the microstructure and magnetic properties of Ni80Fe20 thin films grown by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS), and compare with films grown by dc magnetron sputtering (dcMS).
In situ magnetic and structural analysis of epitaxial Ni80Fe20 thin films for spin‐valve heterostructures
We have investigated structural and magnetic properties of epitaxial (100) Ni80Fe20 films grown on relaxed Cu/Si(100) seed layers. The crystallographic texture and orientation of these films was

Permalloy thin films on MgO(001): Epitaxial growth and physical properties
Permalloy thin films were deposited onto MgO(001) substrates by standard sputtering technique at growth temperatures ranging from 200 to 800 °C. Both reflection high-energy electron diffraction
Magnetic Domain Pattern and Magnetocrystalline Anisotropy in Epitaxially Grown Thin Films of Fe, Ni, and Ni-Fe Alloys
Crystal grains and domain patterns of Ni-Fe alloy films which were condensed on cleaved surfaces of heated NaCl in a vacuum of 5×10 -5 torr were studied by transmission electron microscopy and
Magnetic and transport properties of permalloy thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy
NixFe100−x thin films with x≊65%–90%, have been grown by molecular beam epitaxy on top of thin Fe/Pd multilayers. In situ electron diffraction, and ex situ x‐ray diffraction indicate epitaxial growth
Application of an extended van der Pauw method to anisotropic magnetoresistance measurements of ferromagnetic films
We demonstrate anisotropic resistivity measurements using the extended van der Pauw (vdP) method in ferromagnetic Ni80Fe20 (Py) films. We apply it to measure anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) and
Study of Magnetic Annealing on Ni3Fe Single Crystal
Magnetic anisotropy induced by magnetic annealing was measured for Ni 3 Fe single crystal by means of a high temperature-torque magnetometer. It was found that the magnitude of anisotropy depends
