Objective: To explore the effect of apoptosis inducing factors (AIFs) on artesunate (ART)-induced apoptosis in astrocytic glioma. Methods: CCK-8 Kit was used to detect the viability of U-87 MG cells treated with ART at different concentrations and different processing time. ART-induced cell death was detected by nuclear staining followed by flow cytometry. The effect of ART on mitochondrial membrane potential was determined by Rhodamine123 staining. AIF was then silenced by RNA interference…

Triptolide induces pancreatic cancer cell death via inhibition of heat shock protein 70.

Triptolide is a potential therapeutic agent that can be used to prevent the progression and metastases of pancreatic cancer and its mechanism of action is mediated via the inhibition of HSP70.

Mechanism of triptolide-induced apoptosis: effect on caspase activation and Bid cleavage and essentiality of the hydroxyl group of triptolide

The studies suggest that triptolide may exert its anticancer effects by initiating apoptosis through both death-receptor- and mitochondria-mediated pathways, and results indicate that both the apoptosis-promoting and the antiinflammatory activities of triPTolide depend on the 14-OH group.

The results suggest that Tri might have a potential therapeutic effect on some types of solid tumors, e.g., breast and stomach cancers.

Evaluation of the efficacy and toxicity of amphotericin B incorporated in lipid nano-sphere (LNS).

Efficient delivery of a Bcl-2-specific antisense oligodeoxyribonucleotide (G3139) via transferrin receptor-targeted liposomes.
