The aim of the present study is to prepare pumpkin seed protein isolate (PSPI) by alkaline extraction and to study the effect of its substitution for casein on body weight, feed efficiency ratio, serum liver function enzymes, serum lipids profile and antioxidant enzymes in carbon tetrachloride (CCl ) intoxicated rats. Forty two 4 male rats were divided into 6 equal groups. One group of rats was fed on basal diet and kept as a negative control while the others were subcutaneously injected by CCl…

Efficacy evaluation of the protein isolated from Peganum harmala seeds as an antioxidant in liver of rats.

Antioxidant and hepatoprotective effect of pumpkin seed oil in CCl4-intoxicated rats

It is concluded that pumpkin seed oil has hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects and pretreatment with PSO significantly inhibited the elevation of iNOS in CCl4-treated rats.

Purification of antioxidant protein isolated from Peganum harmala and its protective effect against CCl4 toxicity in rats

The results suggest that the purified protein possesses a protective effect against CCl4-induced toxicity and probably acts as an antioxidative defense through free radical scavenging activity.

Antihypercholesterolemia Activities by Functional Effects of Some Mix Plant Seeds in Rats

Dietary treatment with mix flax /sunflower /pumpkin seeds has a powerful modulating effect to improve biological evaluation, serum blood levels and heart tissues changes of hypercholesterolemic rats then, this mix seeds have the potential in reducing cardiovascular diseases complications due to hyperCholesterolemia.

Effects of N-Butanol Fraction of Gongronema Latifolium Leave Extract on Some Liver Function and Histological Parameters in Ccl4-Induced Oxidative Damage in Wistar Albino Rats

Findings suggested that n-butanol fraction of methanolic leave extract of G. latifolium may have anti-hepatotoxic and antioxidative effects against CCl4-induced liver damage in rats.

In Vitro Role of Pumpkin Parts as Pharma-Foods: Antihyperglycemic and Antihyperlipidemic Activities of Pumpkin Peel, Flesh, and Seed Powders, in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Rats

It is concluded that pumpkin has high potential to be used in human diet to cope with noncommunicable diseases like diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.

Effects of n-butanol fraction of Gongronema latifolium leave extract on some biochemical parameters in CCl4- induced oxidative damage in Wistar albino rats

Findings suggest that n-butanol fraction of methanolic leaves extract of G. latifolium may have anti-hepatotoxic, anti-nephrotoxic and antioxidative effects against CCl4-induced liver and kidney damage in albino rats.

Nutritive Value and Quality of Sweet Basil Leaves in an Animal Model of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

The present study shows that sweet basil leaves are a good source of some health promotive nutrients, and recommends that they should be consumed regularly and implicated in the dietary interventions directed to patients with NAFLD.

Hepatoprotective activity of Peganum harmala against ethanol-induced liver damages in rats

Treatment with P. harmala extract protects efficiently the hepatic function of alcoholic rats by the considerable decrease of aminotransferase contents in serum of ethanol-treated rats.

Effect of Methanol Root Extract of Senna occidentalis against Carbon Tetrachloride-Induced Hepatic Damage in Rats

Protective effect of methanol root extract of Senna occidentalis was investigated against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced hepatic damage in white Wistar strain albino rats. Hepatic damage was
