Stress patterns in language play a large role in how we perceive speech. Stress is assigned on the basis of duration, intensity, and F0. This study investigated the role that duration, intensity, and F0 play in rhythmic grouping. Subjects were presented with sequences of alternating squarewave segments that were varied on one of the aforementioned dimensions.
