Loxoscelism or necrotic arachnidism are terms used to describe lesions and reactions induced by bites (envenomation) from spiders of the genus Loxosceles. Envenomation has been reported to provoke dermonecrosis and haemorrhage at the bite site and haemolysis, disseminated intravascular coagulation and renal failure.
