A hyaluronic acid (HA) crude extracted from the umbilical cord of human placentae was pharmacologically assessed as healing jelly. The experimental design used 20 adult female rats as biological model. Four wounds were made to each animal using disposable cutaneous biotomes of 9 mm. Treatments applied were: control (C), placebo (P), silver sulfadiazine (SS) and HA at 4%. Animals were treated for 7 days and there was a daily clinical control of the wounds.
